SUMMARY: In December, Eddie Cheng, e-business director and president of Yell.com, walked investors through the progression of Yells online directory from a relatively small piece of a large incumbent business to an emerging player in the United Kingdoms Internet Yellow Pages and local search market and a leader in the global online directory space. Yell.coms recent revenue growth has been remarkable. Online revenues rose nearly 40 percent in fiscal 2005 and 56.7 percent for the first six months of Yells current financial year, which ends March 31. Yell.com handles close to 80 million page impressions and about 25 million searches per month and claims 160,000 searchable advertisers. It has boosted its average account value from less than GBP 300 in March 2005 to more than GBP 320 in September 2005 through a combination of rate increases and new products. Recent additions to Yell.coms lineup include sponsored listings and new mapping capability that match or surpass those of competing online directories and search engines in the U.K.
