Switchboard Brings 'Local Search' to National Advertisers

Summary: In late August, Switchboard Inc. launched a new performance-based ad product, LocalClicks, which offers national advertisers a "local search" channel and simultaneous access to the "ready-to-buy" population of Yellow Pages users. Introduced after trials with several national advertisers, LocalClicks will be rolled out across the Switchboard network in the coming weeks and months. The company also promises ongoing enhancements that will deepen the offering for both users and advertisers.

LocalClicks and Switchboard's recent partnership with Google show how aggressive the company is being in introducing new features and functionality and in trying to stay ahead of the new wave of "local search" offerings soon to come from both Internet Yellow Pages providers and search engines currently working on geotargeting.
