Emerging Multiplatform Model
for Directory Publishers Focus of The Kelsey Group’s ‘Directional
Media Strategies 2008’ Conference
‘DMS ’08:
The Multiplatform Opportunity’ will gather Yellow Pages and
local advertising executives to explore how this historically print-centric
industry is now immersed in the new media revolution.
Princeton, NJ (June 17, 2008) --
According to The Kelsey Group,
local search, print Yellow Pages and Internet Yellow Pages (IYP)
will grow from US$33.3 billion in 2007 to US$41.4 billion globally
in 2012. Interactive segments will drive much of the industry’s
growth, while print will remain the most important source of leads
for small businesses. Within this environment, a multiplatform business
model is emerging. The Kelsey Group will gather the global Yellow
Pages, local search and interactive media industry to examine the
challenges and opportunities of this new business model at “Directional
Media Strategies 2008” (DMS ’08: The Multiplatform
Opportunity), Sept. 15-17, 2008, Atlanta, Georgia.
“This is an extraordinary period in the evolution
of the directory publishing industry,” said conference chair
Charles Laughlin, senior vice president and managing editor, The
Kelsey Group. “DMS ’08 will focus on how publishers
and technology providers are driving the transition, and we’ll
explore the strategies that are shaping the multiplatform future.”
DMS ’08: The Multiplatform Opportunity (formerly
Directory Driven Commerce – DDC: The Future of Yellow Pages)
is The Kelsey Group’s 29th Yellow Pages and directories conference,
attracting the widest and most diverse audience of senior executives
from across the global directional media industry. More than 40
senior executives will participate in the DMS ’08 program
through keynote presentations, one-on-one interviews, panel discussions
and research-focused sessions. Companies represented on the agenda
