The Kelsey Group has completed its five-year forecast tracking anticipated growth of directional and performance media through 2010. The forecast reflects projected growth of the directory, search and new this year classifieds marketplaces on a regional and global scale. Both online and traditional media are included. Also present is a projected breakdown of calls vs. clicks in the performance media category.
By 2010, the global print and digital directories market will be valued at US$41.3 billion.U.S. online classifieds are expected to reach US$3.71 billion by 2010. European online classifieds are projected to be worth about US$10.3 billion in 2010.
The pay-per-phone-call market is expected to reach US$3.7 billion by 2010. And geotargeted paid search advertising will be worth US$3.95 billion at the end of five years.
The combined value the U.S Local Search market - Internet Yellow Pages, geotargeted search and on-demand advertising on mobile devices - will reach US$6.17 billion by 2010. When online classifieds are added to that segment, the overall U.S. figure grows to US$9.9 billion.
